RA³ - In Memoriam... Kenneth Hedgpeth

     Kenny Hedgpeth, the founding member of RA³, went into work at his job on May 21, 2011. During his shift, he went into cardiac arrest and was rushed by helicopter to the local hospital. After a very valiant effort by a team of doctors to save him over the next two weeks, it was determined that there was no chance for survival and he was taken off life support on June 3, 2011.

     We lost a very dear friend to all of us that day. Kenny's spirit is what this organization is all about. He was someone who knew how to talk to anybody about anything, and always had a kind word for everyone. The reason we all feel so connected to our little spot on the globe here in Garden Grove is that Rancho, and the people that make up its faculty, staff and student body all combine together to create a certain character. Kenny embodied that character. He represented everything good that you remember about your days at Rancho. He was the good friend you could hang out with at lunch or after school. He was so good at just talking to people that he was never at a loss for friends. He was just such a great friend and we will all miss him.

     Our goal here at RA³ has been, and will continue to be to see Kenny’s vision realized. This organization meant the world to him. We feel that we will be able to honor Kenny’s memory by making RA³ everything he ever wanted it to be.
